Feb 2008

Q Plant operator, John Weaver, has recieved a safety award from Bovis. Whilst working at the W2R site in Thornton John has been the number one for safety on the site. He has been rewarded with vouchers and a bonus. Well done John.

Sept 2007

Strengthening our relationship with Kobelco Cranes a deal has been tied up for several brand new Crawler Cranes to be delivered in 2008. 4 no. CKE800's, 2 no. CKE1100's & 2 no. CKE1350's will join the fleet between February & September.

July 2007

A further order from Doosan's new DX range totalling 21 machines to be added to the hire fleet. The new DX 420s, DX340'S, DX300'S, DX255's,& DX225's will be delivered throughout July & August and the first DX140's to be seen in the UK will arrive late August/early September.

November 2006

To extend Q Plant's range of plant we have purchased a number of Doosan mini-excavators ranging from 3 to 7.5 tonne and all fitted with Trackers. Plantlink will supply these on behalf of Doosan in a deal to include the acquisition of machines from the new DX range. Ranging from 22 to 42 tonne all have the usual Q Plant extras.

June 2006

Q Transport hits the road with the delivery of our new step frame low loader. The new Scania top line is resplendent in silver and blue and a great advertisement on the road. With a matching faymonville extendable trailer carrying up to 55 tonnes and is now available for hire. We have joined the Road Haulage Association and Matt has acquired the Certificate of Professional Competence in National Road Haulage to become our new Transport Manager.

April 2006

In line with Q Plants national status we now have several excavators ranging from 20 to 40 tonnes working on pipeline contracts throughout the UK. Customers Murphys, Entrepose, NACAP and Land & Marine have taken machines, with experienced pipeline operators, on projects in Hull, Skipton & South Wales.

Q Plant are pleased to announce the acquisition of a fleet of new JCB 3CX's. All with extra dig, forks and four in one buckets - the ulimate tool in versatility.

November 2005

Q Plant have acquired the services of Mike 'skip' Gregory - the Ruud van Nistlerooy of Plant Hire Sales. Mike is well known & trusted in the industry and his expertise will further Q Plants success & growth.

October 2005

Q Plant have concluded negotiations with Speedy/Gleeson Plant to purchase the entire Gleeson fleet of Crawler Cranes. This adds seven hydraulic cranes to the fleet including 40tn Sumitomo's adding another string to the Q Plant bow. Many of the cranes are continueing on hire at Gleesons prestigious project at Loch Katrine, Milngavie, just north of Glasgow.

June 2005

Barhale have hired a Kobelco CKE800 Crawler Crane for their prestigious contract at Largs, Ayrshire. The crane will be on site for at least 6 months on the Gleeson managed project to construct a new waste water treatment works.

March 2005

Q Plant have added a variety of breakers and munchers to their attachment fleet. The Breakers will fit all our tracked and wheeled excavators from 10 to 35 tn. The munchers will fit our 25 and 30tn tracked machines.

March 2004

K.M.I. have hired a brand new Daewoo 340 lcv and a 225 lcv for St Helens. The machine is to work on a U.I.D. as part of the United Utilities AMP3 framework. Colin Rutherford, K.M.I's Site Agent, was impressed by the camera system "Health and Safety is paramount on this site and all round vision is extremely important to our H&S department"

February 2004

Q Plant has concluded the deal to buy 16 Daewoo excavators from Centurion Plant. Ranging from 14 to 35 tonne all will meet Q Plants requirements with Safe load indicators, check valves, rear facing cameras, external microphones, quick-hitches and cab quards. Daewoo will include extensive nationwide warranties and delivery will be completed by May this year.

January 2004

A brand new Kobelco CKE800 80tn Hydraulic Crane is to start work at a Yorkshire Water site in Hillsborough, Sheffield. The crane will build a shaft 25m deep, and with ancillary works may be on hire for 6 months.

November 2003

Q Plant are to supply 2 Crawler Cranes for a Laing O'Rourke contract at Slough Water Treatment works. The 2 Cranes, a 40tn and 80tn, will aid Piling and R.C. work which may last until August 2004.

October 2003

The last of Q Plants Crawler Cranes at The Channel Tunnel Rail Link has been de-rigged. Q Plant would like to thank the lads at Hochtief Murphys Plant Office for their custom throughout the contract.

Cementation Skanska take over hire of Cranes working at the Arndale Centre, Manchester.

July 2003

Q Plant supplies 3 Crawler Cranes to work at Sainsbury's flagship store in Oldham- a Bowmer & Kirkland contract.
